Promote a lead to a Nova contact
Turn a Delta lead into a contact in Nova, the CRM, so you can keep working it there.
When a lead is worth following up in your CRM, promote it. Delta makes a Nova contact from it and marks the lead Promoted ✓.
Who can do this
Owners, admins and members can promote a lead. Viewers cannot. The demo workspace is read-only.
Steps
- Open Delta and choose Lead Funnel in the side menu.
- Find the lead in the Leads card.
- Click Promote on its row.
The button changes to Promoted ✓. The new contact in Nova gets:
- the lead's name, split into first and last name;
- a status that follows the lead's stage: Lead becomes New Leads, Contacted and Qualified stay the same, Booked becomes Qualified, and Won becomes Customer;
- the lead's channel and source as tags.
Promoting does not delete or change the lead in Delta.
Common problems
- "Already promoted to a contact." This lead already has a Nova contact.
- A lead shows Promote again after it was promoted. Its contact was deleted in Nova. You can promote it again to make a new contact.
- There is no Promote button, only "Open in Nova". That lead came in through a lead form, a landing page or the chatbot, and is already a Nova contact.
